ATD Hawkeye Chapter is hosting the 2023 Fall Conference on November 1st and 2nd. This year's Fall Conference - Fables and Figures: Boost Learning Through Engaging Narratives. "Spinning fables into fantastic engagement!" - will kick off at 8:00 a.m. on November 1st with Welcome, Introductions, and a word from our sponsors and then our keynote speaker, Rance Greene, will speak at 8:30 a.m.
Rance Greene formed needastory.com and the School of Story Design (schoolofstorydesign.com) for those who struggle with storytelling at work. His methodology - Story Design - gives leaders and talent development professionals a systematic and creative way for discovering who their audience is and how to persuade them to take action on new ideas. He helps leadership teams, entrepreneurs and instructional designers discover that they are uniquely equipped to tell the best story for their audiences. Rance is the author of Instructional Story Design a practical guide for developing stories that train. He coaches, teaches, speaks and writes often on the benefits of stories to connect people to one another. Spoiler Alert: We will be giving each attendee a copy of Rance's book with an opportunity for you to have it signed during our networking segment!!

This year we are fortunate to have our keynote speaker instruct us the entire first day! On day 1, Rance will begin with a keynote address and then follow up with a two-part workshop on designing story-based training sessions. Day 2 Rance shares more unique story-based training design ideas, and then we will move into breakout sessions. We are still looking for speakers for breakout sessions, if interested please complete this RFP prior to . Here is an overview of the three tracks for day 2:
TRACK 1 - Designing the Story Arc: Crafting Engaging Training Materials
Tired of PowerPoint-induced naps and 'Next'- button nightmares? Join us in "Designing the Story Arc", where we revolutionize your training content from a 'snoozefest' to a 'gripping tale'. We're breaking out of the 'death by PowerPoint' cell and into the realm of cinematic storytelling in training. Be the Spielberg of Slides, the Cameron of Content, and say goodbye to yawns and hello to engrossed learners!

TRACK 2 - Once Upon a Stage: Commanding Presence in Public Speaking

Attendees who will benefit most from this track: Learnign and Development consultants, HR consultants, Training managers, Organizational Development professionals, managers and supervisors who work closely with training teams, and subject matter experts who contribute to training.
Remember....you don't have to pick one track and stay with it. If you find a topic you like in a track outside your main track, then jump over and enjoy coloring outside the "lines".
