Shawn Rosler

Friday January 13, 2023 at 8:30 a.m.

As a podcast host for nearly 10 years, Shawn Rosler, host/creator of the Course Grind Podcast, has been able to take his hobby and leverage it professionally, proving what he's been purporting all along: Podcasts ARE learning.  By leveraging this low risk platform, professional organizations I've worked with have been able to put out brand-centric content, focusing on content that matters to users, all via a podcast platform (that takes mobility into account by default.)  This session will take a look at where podcasts work (and where they don't), how you can start to build your concept, and how to roll it out/market it (or even assign it, should you need to.)  By aligning the work of the 'ID-Turned-Host' and the knowledge of your 'SME-Turned-Guest', learning content is just an interview away.

Developing Professional Capability - Personal Communication

Shawn Rosler has been an instructional designer, project manager, and developer of dynamic, interactive, and highly efficient eLearning and other instruction for over 20 years.  He's a frequent contributor to various industry-based publications, with his articles "Trimming the Fat" and "Podcasting for Performance" appearing in TD Magazine.  Shawn has presented to academic, medical, and corporate audiences, covering an expansive array of topics, including: The Learning Guild's Learning Solutions and DevLearn converences, as well as their Online Forums in 2012.  He's also been a featured speaker and committee chair at Penn State's WebConference.  From the basics of adult learning theory to the real-world application of converting instructor-led training to a computer or Web base, he is an evangelist for trimming down processes while keeping them effective.  He is an immeasurably proud father of 3 incredible boys - Wesley, Chas, and Raymond, and an incredibly lucky husband to an amazing wife, Greta.
