We Need Training!

Brenda Meeker

In our roles, we may agree - "Yes, training is needed!"  The question is, "On what?"  Identifying the core need and focus of training is critical so that we can deliver the right training to the right people at the right time.  During this session, we will discover our challenges with defining and delivering the most impactful training, explore how to partner with others to gather important information and ensure that the need is met, and identify engagement opportunities with key stakeholders to make the training come to life.

Bio:  Brenda Meeker is passionate about supporting others in their personal and professional growth.  As owner and president of Elevate Consulting, LLC, she provides training, coaching, HR, and project-based solutions to meet organizational and employee development needs.

Brenda has worked in corporate and non-profit settings and Division I athletics, providing a range of experience that informs her work.  She is an active community volunteer in Cedar Rapids, currently serving as Vice Chair of the Leadership for Five Seasons Advisory Board and an Engligh tutor with the Catherine McAuley Center.  She is a member of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) Hawkeye Chapter and served on its Board of Directors in a variety of roles, including President.

Brenda earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and an MBA from Drake University in Des Moines.  She cheers for those college teams, as well as the Iowa State Cyclones.  She is a great example that growth is possible for anyone, as she no longer cheers against - and can even be caught cheering for - the Iowa Hawkeyes after becoming a house divided.
