We are living in a heightened technology-connected world, which has many positives; however, it can sometimes cause us to not be as engaged and present in real time! Have you ever been part of an important conversation with someone and they are looking at their phone, as they are 'listening' to you? How did that make you feel? We can agree that active and deep listening takes practice; teams excel when they commit to mindful listening!

With the recent events surrounding diversity and inclusion in the workplace, many of us have been challenged to review our practices to make sure we are meeting our commitment. However, looking at policies and data will not confirm or deny how successful you our business is at being diversified or inclusive. Diversity and Inclusivity shouldn’t be treated as a side project but rather fully ingrained in the culture of the organization, similarly to the way organizations are now thinking about sustainability broadly. One way to do that is to get better at listening.

During this webinar we will review the 4 Levels of Listening and provide tools on how you can truly be a mindful listener. We will blend how mindful listening can enlighten the culture of your organization and what you can do today to support your organization in the current culture issues we are facing today.

The goal of this training is to equip participants with tools and resources to recognize their unconscious biases and apply deep listening as it pertains to training and development.

    Jennifer Zach is an executive coach, speaker, and organizational trainer. Jennifer partners with business leaders and human resources professionals to create cultures where people thrive. Formerly a data analyst, Jennifer integrates coaching, training, and people analytics to help businesses answer critical questions about their workforce and strengthen their organizational health. Jennifer enjoys reading, knitting, and spending time with friends and family.

    Sandy Collins, SHRM-CP, is the Director of Human Resources at Exceptional Persons, Inc., an organization that supports people with intellectual disabilities, brain injury, mental illness, and finding child care. Sandy has over 20 years of experience working in the financial and non-profit sectors. Sandy has presented in numerous conference focusing primarily on leadership development. Through her studies at University of Dubuque, where she graduated with honors in Human Resource Management and Psychology, Sandy has always made it her mission to focus on real issues that result in the ability to make change.

    Nicole Soer has a passion for people, training, and software and has more than eighteen years of experience in training about software as well as other business and time-management skills. She is a mindfulness aficionado and has been on a quest the last few years to find small actions and strategies that help people overcome overwhelm. She enjoys collaborating with others on ways to streamline their business processes using technology. Nicole is a Functional Analyst at University of Wisconsin - Platteville and serves as the Vice President for Marketing for the ATD Hawkeye Chapter. She has a B.S. in Mathematics from Illinois State University, an M.A. in Psychology from Loras College as well as a Business Analytics Certificate from Loras College.

    Please join us up to 15 minutes early for a technology check, sign-in, and informal networking.  We will get started at 8:00AM.

    This program is valid for 1 PDC for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.

    Members can log into the website and register to attend the program for free.  Guests will need to register online and pay a fee of $20.00. We'd be more than happy to apply your registration fee toward a chapter membership when you become a member within one week of this program.
